What am I an expert in?!
This may seem odd, but the older I get, the less clear it becomes where my expertise lies — simply because I keep on adding layers to what I know, what I do, and where I have something of substance to say.
This is becoming such a challenge that I thought, wouldn’t it be interesting if I put the titles of all my papers, reports, talks, articles, videos, podcasts, interviews etc. into one big word cloud, and see what comes out.
The problem, of course, is that this is biased by the stuff I’ve been doing the longest, and the words that creep into the titles of stuff I publish. And so there are gaping holes around convergent tech and specific emerging technologies like AI, gene editing etc. However, the cloud still gives an interesting perspective on some of the stuff I know enough about to have either published about it, or been asked as an expert to talk about it!
